Star.

A smiling star shines one indigo glow,
Captures my heart from far below.
Winking goodnight sweet angel holds,
Forever and always till the bells toll.

In the boundless azure dome,
The glorious host of light.
She is silently watching,
Keeping vigils lone and high.

She is of such brilliance,
I am mere dust below her feet.
Separated by a million lightyears,
Heaven and earth will never meet.

And the smiling star starts to fade,
Rage against a darkened sky.
All that glitters is not gold,
Only teardrops on a grey lawn cold.
